01

Start with a word that already contains action

BOUNCE, WINK, SPARK, and TUMBLE bring a verb, rhythm, or expectation with them. The design becomes stronger when it reveals something the word already knows instead of attaching an unrelated mascot.

02

Turn rhythm into one visible rule

A baseline can spring, a dot can jump, or spacing can pause before a punchline. Keep the rule small enough that every character remains present, ordered, and readable in one glance.

03

Place the surprise after recognition

Readers should name the word first and notice the joke second. If the clever moment delays spelling, reduce its scale, color, or number of moving parts.
